Getting to Watamu is easy, with many transportation options available.

Malindi is our nearest airport being some 30 minutes away. Jambojet (from Nairobi JKIA) offer a direct service up to 5 times per day and these connect from and to many international flights.

Daily services from Nairobi Wilson are offered by Skyward Express and Safarilink. 

Mombasa (approximately 120 minutes away) also offers many international connections direct from Asia, Europe & the Americas.

Voi Airport is also nearby (approximately 90 minutes away).

 

Take the SGR train to Marikani (or Mombasa)

As the train makes it's way south there is the opportunity to view elephants, zebra, wildebeest, baboons, monkeys, ostrich and various buck. With birds, some intriguing villages and a distant glance of the stunning Mount Kilimanjaro, the 5 hour travel time is a great way to start your Watamu vacation.

Take a Bus Service direct to Watamu

 

Take one of the frequent bus services from Nairobi, Mombasa, Voi and Malindi direct to Watamu.

 

Self-drive by Car

Watamu is accessed via the B8 highway which has seen siginifcant infra-structure investment in the past few years and is now a comfortable and easily driveable road.

Approximate distances and times via dirving are:

Nairobi               600 kms    9-10½ hours

Mombasa          110 kms    2-2½ hours

Malindi                25kms       40 minutes
